Originally from Connecticut, Tod has amassed a broad range of performing and teaching experience throughout the New York area and overseas. He has a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from New York University, a Master of Arts in Classical Bass from Queens College, and is currently a Ph.D. student in Musicology at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York specializing in sixteenth-century Italian and Franco-Flemish vocal music.
Outside of school and family life, Tod's current professional activities include a studio of double bass students, regular performances with the Ridgefield (Connecticut) Symphony, freelance jazz gigs, and solo and chamber music performances on Viola da Gamba (a late-Renaissance and Baroque string instrument).
